Aston Martin set for another golden age

This year, British luxury sports car manufacturer Aston Martin celebrates 103 years in business, during which time it has produced a combined total of about 80,000 cars. That's about the same number that Toyota produces in three days. In a global industry that boasts around 85 million cars per annum, Aston Martin makes up a fractional slice of the total cars built each year. But it also claims a staggering 95 per cent of all Aston Martins are still in existence - as few, if any, are scrapped.

Aston Martin to stick with manuals and V12s, says CEO

New Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer says the British sports car brand won’t follow the trend of ditching manual transmissions in its future models. “I would love to be the last car manufacturer providing stick shifts in the US,” Palmer told US publication Car and Driver. “That’s my hope, we will keep the faith.

Aston Martin Vulcan to debut in Geneva, will be a track-only car - UPDATE

A new model, dubbed the Aston Martin Vulcan, will debut at the Geneva motor show that takes place at the beginning of March. The Vulcan was announced overnight via a teaser video (above), which features the sound of roaring engines and stylised imagery of race tracks whooshing by.
