2012 Sydney motor show fails to boost crowd numbers
…
Almost 4000 fewer people passed through the turnstiles of last month's 2012 Australian international motor show (AIMS) than the Harbour City's previous show in 2010, as a number of key manufacturers bypassed the event.
Taking over the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre from October 19 to 28, this year’s show saw more than 40 new models unveiled but only 135,050 people pass through the doors – 3950 down on 2010.
The last Aston Martin One-77 supercar has been sold in the US, bringing to an end the exclusive 77-vehicle production run of the British hero car.
Aston Martin CEO Ulrich Bez announced the news about the £1.2 million ($1.8 million) Aston Martin icon at the company’s recent 2011 earnings announcement.
It's been on sale for a little while now but none have actually been delivered to their new, presumably very rich, owners. Things have changed though as Aston has just delivered the first example to an owner in Monte Carlo, Monaco.
The first delivered model was spotted here just a few days ago sitting outside the iconic Hotel de Paris right in the heart of Monte Carlo, surrounded by the glamorous riviera of south France.
Aston Martin has released its third video showcasing the technology and engineering behind its new One-77 supercar in the lead up to its official debut.
Before it has even been completely revealed, 100 of the worlds most wealthy have apparently placed a firm order for Aston Martin's upcoming One-77 supercar.
At least 23 will be disappointed however, with Aston Martin only planning to build 77 examples worldwide of the £1.2million supercar.
The One-77 has dethroned the Veyron as the most expensive production car in the world, but the price tag doesn't seem to have dampened its appeal, nor has the current global economic woes.
