Renault Alaskan firming for 2020 Oz launch

Renault Australia has confirmed its business case for the Alaskan ute is firming, with a 2020 launch looking likely. Speaking with media last week, Andrew Moore, Renault Australia managing director, offered an update on the dual-cab twin to Nissan's Navara. "Alaskan is a possibility for early 2020, not confirmed," Moore said, speaking at the Alpine A110 unveiling at Motorclassica in Melbourne.

2019 Renault Kadjar confirmed for Australia

Renault has confirmed the mid-sized Kadjar SUV will be making the trip Down Under, with an arrival set for some time in 2019. Andrew Moore, Renault Australia managing director, this week confirmed the news at the local launch of the Megane RS. The car coming Down Under is the facelifted model, revealed on Thursday morning for the European market.

Renault Kangoo ZE: Electric van priced from $52,527 for private buyers

Renault Australia will start selling the Kangoo ZE all-electric van to private buyers, offering it alongside the Zoe city car at a handful of specially-trained dealers. Previously reserved for fleet buyers, the electric load-lugger will be priced from $52,527 drive-away. Power comes from a 33kWh lithium-ion battery pack hooked up to a synchronous electric motor making 44kW and and 226Nm of torque.

Suzuki Ignis Sport turbo on wish-list

Suzuki Australia is keen to get its hands on a hotted-up version of the high-riding new Ignis city car as soon as possible, potentially using a version of the Baleno’s turbo engine. However, the small issue of whether such a car is even in development lingers, though given the old Ignis' use in rallying (as pictured below at The Acropolis), we’d imagine it’s been at least considered.
