2016-18 Ram 2500, 3500 recalled

American Special Vehicles has recalled Ram 2500 and 3500 models sold between January 1, 2016 and October 1, 2018 over concerns about the heater hose pipe. The company reports a heater hose pipe mightn't be properly attached securely, creating a friction point with the brake pipe assembly.

As the North American market begins rollout of the new-generation 2019 Ram 1500, Australian details for the older 2018 Ram 1500 have been announced this week. UPDATE, 23/8/18: The original version of this article listed a rear-view camera as standard equipment across the range, however this isn't the case. A rear-view camera is included with the Laramie specification only.

Ram 1500, 2500, 3500 recalled for safety fix

Local importer and conversion company American Special Vehicles (ASV) has issued a recall for six vehicles across its Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 model lines over concerns a faulty occupant sensor could cause the airbags to not deploy in an accident. Affected vehicles were built in 2014, 2015 and 2016.

Ram Trucks still here by end of 2015: American Special Vehicles joint-venture detailed here

Full-size American Ram Trucks pickups will go on sale in Australia by the end of the year, as part of a just-confirmed co-operation between the Walkinshaw Automotive Group and Neville Crichton, owner of automotive distributor Ateco Automotive. A media release today announced that a deal between the two groups had been finalised ahead of the launch of the big Yank Tanks by year’s end, and unveiling to the media on November 18.
