Alpine is going back to its roots, revealing a rally-ready racer based on the road-going A110 coupe. The A110 Rally will officially be launched at the Rallye Mont-Blanc Morzine this weekend, with sales to start at the 'end of the year'.

2020 Alpine A110 GT4 spied

What appears to be a road-going version of the Alpine A110 GT4 has been snapped during testing, but exactly what role it'll fill in the range remains to be seen. Our spy photography agency snagged these pictures at the same time as the Renault Megane RS Trophy-R, suggesting the GT4 (or whatever Alpine plans to call it) could share some componentry with the new Nordschleife hot-hatch hero.

Poll: Porsche Cayman asserts itself over Alpine A110

Alpine Australia managing director, Andrew Moore, made no bones about the fact the new A110 is targeted directly at the Porsche 718 Cayman. If our latest poll is any guide, the reborn French brand has its work cut out taking on the four-cylinder, mid-engined Porsche. Just 17 per cent of people favoured the A110 over the Cayman, one the largest margin we've seen since starting the polls earlier this year.

Mazda, Alpine winners in Festival Automobile International design awards

The Mazda Vision Coupe and Alpine A110 have taken out awards at the Festival Automobile International awards in Paris, France overnight. Alpine's compact Porsche Cayman-hunter was voted Most Beautiful Car of 2017 in a public online vote, while the Vision Coupe won Most Beautiful Concept Car of the Year.

Alpine A110 confirmed for Australia

The Alpine A110 sports car has been confirmed for the Australian market this week, set to arrive Down Under in the second half of 2018. According to the French manufacturer, Australia is the second market outside of Europe to be confirmed, and one of only three right-hand-drive markets to be receiving the A110 so far.
