I have had my Trailblazer for about two months now, and have so far been very happy with it. I bought it for daily driving and towing, and it’s been outstanding for both. It tows my old Kombi on a car trailer effortlessly, and also gets up and goes very well when I want it to.
The interior plastics feel a little average for the level of car, but the seats are comfortable enough and the interior looks good. Apple CarPlay is the best thing to happen to in-car entertainment and I will never buy a car without it again.
My only negative is that fuel economy in stop-start traffic is terrible. Once moving it is very acceptable, and as good as could be expected.
I haven’t had a chance to take this off-road yet, but I have no doubt that it will do the job I need.
I chose the Trailblazer after looking at dual-cab utes and really not needing a ute for my lifestyle. The Trailblazer was about half a metre shorter than the Colarado and Navara, which makes a huge difference when in and around the city. It also makes it much easier to fit in my garage.
The other nice thing I found over the dual-cab utes is the ride quality. It has obviously been built with passengers in mind, rather than taking huge loads in the back. This really shows with both handling and comfort. The rear coil suspension is to thank for that.
Space in the cabin is also very good – even the rear row seats are comfortable for adults. The rear-row seats also get their own air-conditioning vents to add to their comfort.
The safety features, such as traffic awareness and lane departure warnings, are a huge bonus. Even though I didn’t actively go looking for those features, I am really growing to appreciate them. Also, it has airbags the whole length of the car, even for the far rear seats.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a good solid car that offers a luxury interior, while also being functional and capable.
