2015 Mitsubishi Triton Exceed (4x4) Review

An absolute pleasure to drive the MY 16 MQ Exceed 4x4. Very responsive steering for a utility due to the smaller wheel base compared to others in class. Easier to park than its opponents in my opinion and tows effortlessly. Acceleration is instant with no lag as per the previous model.

My children love it, so it is great for a young family who like to go camping and off roading. It is priced well below like models in its class. With all additional items is can be 15k to 20k more economical. The diesel engine is very, very quiet with windows open. Undetectable with windows closed.

The five speed gearbox, while criticised by some it fine for most people. You don't need a six speed just to keep up with the others (Ranger, Colorado etc). It works fine, as does the paddle gear change system. The four wheel drive change button is very simple to use and conveniently placed.

It has a 12volt plug in the dash and another in the centre console. I would have liked another in the back cab section.

I would also have like the rear opening window of its former model.

The deep console holds a lot of items. The upper section of the console is useless and everything falls out when you open the bottom section.

The only other internal feature I do not like is the sunglass holder. It is unable to hold a pair of decent sized mens sunglasses. I managed to squeeze in one pair - but it popped open on a drive.

Externally, I would like the feature of the Ford Wildtrack available, that is a roller cover that locks. I don't like the hard tops as it restricts the size or height of the load, whereas the roller cover would allow for that and also secure tools or other items you could leave in the back when it is unattended.
