2013 Mazda 3 Neo: owner review
After 35,000k's, My 2013 BL Mazda 3 Neo has been an absolute gem. Bought as a run-out, the car came packed with Bluetooth and alloy wheels, at the time it was a steal for a fraction under $20,000.
- Handling, Build Quality, Ride, Bluetooth, Service Costs
- Road noise , Fuel economy good not great. , 6 month service shedule
As my first new car the Mazda has done all I could ask of it. The 3 is zippy around town living up to Mazda's Zoom Zoom moto. The ride and handling make it super responsive a even a little fun when pushed. The 5 speed auto works well to extract the most out of the engine.
The Car is a little thirsty around town averaging between 8-9L per 100km while driving around town, however as soon as you jump on the highway the economy is exceptional. Having completed a few long trips in the 3, I have been very impressed with the road manners while driving at 110kph the car feels nice and stable, overtaking is a risky game as it puts the 2.0L engine out of its depth.
The car has been very reliable, the overall build quality has been very impressive. With very reasonable servicing costs it is a shame that the service schedule is too short at 6 months.
The only downside is the well documented road noise common with Mazda's.
Overall the 2013 Mazda 3 isn't perfect, however for the price it has lived up to all my expectations and would highly recommended the car to my family and friends.
Keep up the good work Mazda.
