2013 Holden Commodore SV6 Z-series Review
We bought this VE Sportswagon near the end of the VE run, it was discounted and we traded a VS wagon on it. At first it felt big and clumsy after the VS but that all changed on a quick trip to Toowoomba one weekend. It is great on the highways, smooth, quick and handles like it is on rails. It's now done 40,000 klms and is performing very well indeed.
- great to drive, good performance, looks cool, it's not a SUV, it's made in Australia
- big A pillars hide cars on roundabouts, windscreen washer bottle not big enough, expensive tires
It's got 19 inch rims that the Z Series came with and the tires are quite expensive but beautiful to drive on.
We got the dark tint from the dealer and our two young kids sit in the back in their car seats like they're in a cubbyhouse.
The wagon is comfortable and big inside, plenty of room to move and get cosy in.
It has a rear camera that is very good and quite necessary as the wagon is not all that easy to park with poor rear vision. Plenty of room in the back for most things we need to move around and also great leg room for all passengers.
Service is capped and cheap, fuel economy is ok with an average of 12.1 over the life of the car. All up, we are very happy with it.
As I write this it sits at Brisbane airport while we holiday in Victoria. We've rented a VF 2 SV6 Sportswagon for our Victorian holiday and we love it. Will I trade the VE for one of the last VF2s??? I doubt it.
