2011 HONDA ACCORD EURO
I was looking for a sporty looking mid sized sedan and decided on the Accord Euro after cross shopping the car with the Mazda 6 (came close to buying this but decided for the Euro's more angular shape), Mondeo (good value but tail lights at the back put me off), and Kizashi (a bit too overly styled for my taste).
- Great design, economical for its size, high quality stock sound system
- MY11 more expensive than competitors, expensive servicing, MY11 does not come with bluetooth
The base model Accord Euro is already well equipped but lacked bluetooth at that time and was also more expensive than competitors. It is also slightly more expensive to service.
The comfort, though, is top notch. The cloth trim is very well made, the dash design is well laid out, and the sound system with 10 speakers sounds great - I really enjoy going on road trips with the car.
With regards to performance and handling, I like driving the Accord as it is economical for its size (currently 9.1L/100km with around 30-35% highway driving). It is also very quiet, with wind and engine noise reduced to a minimum.
Ultimately, the Accord Euro is a great looking car that will age well and will probably last me for at least a decade, or at least until I get the urge to buy a new car!
