2007 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER VR-X LUXURY (7 SEAT)
I have owned a ZG Outlander for almost 5 years and am very happy with the car.
- Ahead of its time when launched. Great Drive
- Poor quality interior, scuffs easily, can be noisy on poor roads.
It was packed with features not offerred previously on compact SUVs - Bluetooth, SMART key, RF sound system and the option of 7 seats (though can only be used by the little ones).
Drives beautifully especially on the open road. Gets 12-13L/100km in daily drive but can get down to 8-9L/100km on long drives (been to Broken Hill and it was great).
Rear DVD also make long trip easier for the kids but Mitsubishi only provides 1 set of headphones which is a hassle. Aftermarket works though ok.
Don't have the MMCS system but not a great loss because of niggles in operating it as mentioned in the CarAdvice review.
iPod connectivity is via audio cable but inconveniently located at the lower back position of the centre console.
Easy to personalise as well due to extensive accessories available here, abroad and online.
Haven't had any mechanical issues and servicing cost up to now (clocked up >70K) is not over the roof. Long warranty and premium road assistance provided as well.
Will probably wait for a substantial model upgrade or change before I trade it in.
