2004 FORD TERRITORY TX (RWD)
My wife's car was bought new and has now done (only) 80000km.
- A great Aussie design, a 'wagon' that was as good as anything else around
- Build quality not perfect, wish it was a diesel
Needed a new steering rack after a couple of months, but since then she's been pretty good. The "ball joint" issue was a concern for many years, and it took Ford too long to do a recall which largely addressed it.
Pity the people who had front ends fall out while they waited...
But enough of the negatives - it really is a great 7 seater design. As good as Volvos, BMWs, Mercs, just 1/2 to 1/3 of the price.
Engine is gutsy, but weight a bit of a negative factor.
Ride is car-like, comfort inside very good, as is visibility.
It's one of Australia's great designs, and if fuel was still at say 85cpl, there would be twice as many on the road.
The latest update which includes a diesel has again set a benchmark for this type of vehicle. Let's hope Territory still has a few more years ahead of it!
