VFACTS: MG sales on the rise

MG may have a hallowed name, but it hasn’t really been relevant to Australians for a very long time, since it was a purveyor of iconic British drop-tops. That appears to be changing, however, with the company making some serious inroads thanks in large part to the ZS small crossover SUV. Take January 2019, a month in which it sold 503 cars, up 10-fold over the same month in 2018...

I drove a Chinese-made MG and... I liked it

For those of you that made it to our recent Sydney open day, you would’ve seen that our garage is an L-shaped mess, with a stack formation of cars that means first in, last out. As a result, when a car needs to get out, it requires half a dozen people to move those behind it. On one recent occasion, I was handed the keys to the new MG ZS small SUV so that it could make way for another car heading for a photo shoot...

MG ZS gets four-star ANCAP rating

The new MG ZS has scored a disappointing four stars in ANCAP safety testing, while the Holden Equinox and Hyundai Kona managed five-star ratings. Hindering the MG's success was a below-average 10.46 out of 16 for the frontal-offset test, which saw insufficient inflation of the passenger's airbag, causing the dummy to 'bottom out'...
