Terms and conditions for competition: Journo for a day, Mazda launch event in Tasmania. (Click here to read the article.)



This competition (“Competition”) is conducted by Pty Ltd (ABN 84 116 608 158) (“Promoter”) of 52 Victoria Street, McMahon’s Point NSW 2060.

The Competition is open to individuals who: are Australian residents aged 21 years or older and have a full and valid Australian Driver’s Licence (not probationary). To claim the prize, you must be available to attend the event on Wednesday September 5th and Thursday September 6th, 2018 in Tasmania; and unless you are already based in Tasmania, you must be able to make your own way to Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane airports to board the flights to the event. If you are based in Tasmania, you will need to be able to make your own way to Hobart Airport. The competition is not open to individuals who are directors, management or employees, or their immediate family members, of CarAdvice or Mazda Australia, or its related companies, Dealers or agencies associated with the either company or the Competition directly.



Entries open midday (AEST) Monday August 23rd 2018 and close at midday (AEST) August 13th 2018.

This Competition is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the winner(s).

There are 5 Prizes available. Each prize is valued at $1,000. The prize includes return flights (from Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane) to Hobart, one night’s accommodation at the Piermont Retreat in Tasmania and all meals. Any additional costs not expressly stated, but which may be incurred in acceptance and use of a prize, are the responsibility of the winner.

Submitted entries of all Eligible Entrants will be judged by representatives of the Promoter between Wednesday August 15th and Tuesday August 21st. Valid entries will be judged based on creativity, vehicle assessment skills, effort, execution, and alignment with the spirit of the Competition.

Prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable, non-exchangeable, non-replaceable, and non-redeemable for another prize, except at the Promoter’s discretion.
It is a further condition of accepting any Prize that the Prize Winner(s) may each be required to sign a legal release in the form determined by the Promoter. Each Prize Winner accepts the Prize at his or her own risk. The Promoter, its associated entities and agencies and their personnel shall not be liable for any death, injury, loss or damage (including any claim, costs or expenses) whatsoever that is suffered by any Prize Winner (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained as a result of taking and/or using any Prize, except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law.



The winners will be notified by either phone or email to the contact details provided by them in the entry within two working days of them being selected as a Prize Winner and no later than Tuesday August 21st. The name of the winners will be published on the CarAdvice website on Wednesday August 22nd.

The prize will only be awarded following any winner validation and verification that the Promoter requires in its sole discretion.



If for any reason this Competition is not capable of running as planned, or is interfered with or disrupted in any way (including by vandalism, power failures, natural disasters, acts of God, weather event, civil unrest, strikes, computer bugs or viruses, tampering or technical failures), the Promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition, or invalidate any affected entries.

All of the Promoter’s decisions in relation to all aspects of this Competition are final and no correspondence will be entered into. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.

A winner accepts a prize at their own risk. Any tax liability arising as a result of accepting a prize is the responsibility of the winner. Independent financial advice should be sought.



Entrants’ personal information is collected from entrants by or on behalf of the Promoter to enable the Promoter and its agents to manage, administer and promote the Competition and, where applicable, publicise the winner(s). The personal information may also be provided to persons assisting the Promoter, including prize suppliers and deliverers, marketing agencies and IT providers, media outlets and related companies. The winner’s name will also be published on the CarAdvice website. By participating in the Competition, Eligible Entrants consent to these uses and disclosures of their personal information.

If an Eligible Entrant does not provide the personal information the Promoter requests, the Promoter may not be able to enter them into the Competition. All personal information is handled in accordance with these conditions and the Promoter’s Privacy Policy.
