My wife and I love to drive our Jeep Grand Cherokee. Its road manners are excellent and the interior comfort is unparalleled for the money.
My purchase of a brand-new just-superseded 2013 Laredo 5-speed at $45,000 on-road including chrome side-steps was a good deal, and I haven't any complaints about the vehicle's appearance or performance, even though I think the proximity key system is rubbish and there are too many dashboard selections to commit to memory...
This car is very comfortable because I am a regular driver, oh I enjoy the comfort of the driver's seat. The car is good when you do a u-turn and it can handle the road very well. I never thought this SUV could be quick. Oh boy it can go and it is also good on sharp corners, it is also quiet on dirt roads...
After owning 7 MB E-Class and BMW X-5 the Grand Cherokee is great value for money. Under half the price of equivalent Euro vehicles and better than Territory.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee cannot be driven on dusty roads, therefore as an "off-road 4WD" it doesn't suit what we bought it for. We do not drive it with the windows open. We are now selling it. It's a disgrace that they are still being advertised as an off-road 4wd, don't know of many "off-roads" that are bitumen...
The first surprise I got was when doing a 180 degrees turn in the street. I was preparing myself for some awkward forward/backward manoeuvrings, but the car somehow managed to make a complete u-turn in that space. My Suzuki Swift could barely do better. Wow! Similarly for reverse parking - a cinch. Very quiet and lets you enjoy the sound system...
I've owned a number of Jeep's in the past but this time around bought the Grand Cherokee. After researching the industry for ages I saw the Jet edition was due to arrive in limited numbers. Test drove diesel 3.0 litre turbo which was also great but the 3.6l v6 has plenty of grunt and select sports mode if you want to drive it a bit harder...
Owned the V8 Overland for around 12 months now. Fit and finish and specification is superb and excellent value for the price. Rides and handles well with no lateral shudder often felt in other large 4wds. Have towed large loads over 3000km and performed well save that transmission can get caught off guard and take some time to shift down or have the engine pick its skirt up and go...
I have owned in excess of 80 vehicles over most major brands. Was interested in purchasing a new or near new European SUV such as a Volvo XC90 , BMW X5 or perhaps a Audi Q7 but was concerned about reliability and repair costs as always been bitten on all my cars that I have owned that were European...
My 13 th Jeep and by far the best ever- to date. Ride, economy, handling on the road is extraordinary. Economy, well at 1000 k's to a tank of fuel- what else is there to say. Beats my previous v8 petrol overland by 100 % . There is no other large SUV that I have found that can match it on a cost benefit analysis, or feature against feature...
