Holden history: from the beginning to the end

GMC Hummer EV pickup confirmed, will have monster power output

General Motors has confirmed its first-ever electric pickup truck will officially be known as the GMC Hummer EV. The automaker also revealed the new Hummer will be available with a 746kW (1000hp) and 15,590Nm electric power system.  Although it isn't specified, that torque figure is likely a slightly misleading 'wheel torque' number instead of a true 'engine torque' output...

Automakers impose travel bans due to deadly coronavirus outbreak

Ford and GM have imposed travel restrictions to the city of Wuhan due to a deadly outbreak of a new strain of coronavirus in the city. GM confirmed to Bloomberg it has issued a "global travel advisory" for the Chinese city, with travel limited to "business critical" issues. Ford had also issued a travel advisory for its employees, while Volkswagen has given safety advice to its staff...

GM about to unveil its first driverless car - report

Cruise, the self-driving car firm owned by General Motors, will reportedly unveil its new dedicated autonomous vehicle by the end of the day. Sources within the company told Bloomberg Cruise will unveil the vehicle at an event in San Francisco. A spokesperson for the firm stated the vehicle at the event "is definitely not a car", but refused to elaborate any further...
