Wiesmann refuses to die, applies to dismiss insolvency proceedings

The management board of beleaguered German retro sports car maker Wiesmann has applied to dismiss the current insolvency proceedings that threaten to quietly kill the company. Wiesmann released a statement overnight confirming its application for the dismissal of the proceedings, quoting "abolition of the insolvency reasons" as its justification for the action.

Wiesmann GT MF5 V8 Twin Turbo Spy Photos

Last year the CarAdvice crew went and drove the Wiesmann GT MF5 and MF4, at the time both cars were powered by either the old BMW M5 or M3 engines. Now that BMW has stopped making the V10 in the old M5, what will Wiesmann use to power its cars? The new 4.4-litre BMW V8 Twin Turbo, of course. Already in use in the BMW X6 and the X5 M, the new high powered V8 will soon find it self in the M5 M6 as well.

It's got 10,000 kW and goes from 0-100km in blah blah blah" - "Tony, it's 4am in the bloody morning!' We left Friedberg and headed for Frankfurt, briefly dropped in to the SINN watch factory and had a quick tour. Tony got a new watch and we continued to Dulmen, the home of Wiesmann.
