Jeep Renegade: Compact SUV axed in Australia

Jeep has put its slow-selling Renegade SUV on hold in Australia. The rugged-looking rival to the Mazda CX-3 and Honda HR-V only found 70 homes last year, down from 163 in 2018 – and a huge drop from the 1051 sold in 2016, the Renegade's best year in Australia. Even slow-selling competitors like the Ford EcoSport (481 sales) and Nissan Juke (509) comfortably outsold the smallest Jeep last year.

2020 Ford Puma confirmed for Australia

Ford has confirmed its rival to the Nissan Juke, the Puma, is bound for Australia in the second half of 2020. Revealed in June 2019, the Fiesta-sized crossover is pitched as a premium offering. The only engine available was a 1.0-litre three-cylinder EcoBoost Hybrid with 92kW or 114kW at its European launch, however conventional petrol and diesel options will also be available.

2020 Nissan Qashqai pricing and specs: CarPlay, new special edition for compact crossover

Nissan has updated its popular Qashqai SUV for 2020, adding Apple CarPlay and Android Auto across the range. Pricing for the Qashqai kicks off $27,990 (+$500) before on-road costs for the base ST manual, and jumps to $29,990 (+$500) before on-roads for the ST CVT. Standard equipment for the base Qashqai remains unchanged, save for the addition of a new 7.0-inch infotainment system featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
