Cupra Tavascan concept revealed

The Cupra Tavascan concept has been revealed ahead of its world debut at this year’s Frankfurt motor show. It’s the latest concept based on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform, which will underpin a fleet of electric vehicles including the upcoming Volkswagen ID.3 hatchback. The Tavascan concept uses two electric motors – one each on the front and rear axles – that produce a combined output of 225kW, enough to make the crossover reach 100km/h in less than 6.5 seconds.

The facelifted Seat Ateca has been spied during development testing in the Austrian Alps, ahead of an anticipated launch sometime next year. Former Volkswagen CEO charged in Germany over Dieselgate affair

Martin Winterkorn, former Volkswagen Group CEO, was last week charged for offences related to the company's Dieselgate saga. Prosecutors claim Winterkorn didn't inform customers about the company's emissions cheating software and failed to stop the company from using such software at the earliest possible instance. Due to the company's delayed reaction, it was hit with large punitive fines by both German and American authorities.

Seat has teased a new Cupra concept car, which will be unveiled on February 22, European time. The debut of the new concept is timed to coincide with the brand's first anniversary as a standalone marque.
