British manufacturers not committing to lower prices in Australia, despite free trade agreement

Manufacturers that build cars in Britain are yet to commit to lower Australian prices, despite the announcement of a new Free Trade Agreement "immediately eliminating" an existing 5 per cent automotive import tariff. Affected British-built cars include Nissan's Juke, Leaf, and Qashqai small SUVs, and the majority of vehicles built by Jaguar, Land Rover, Mini, Aston Martin, McLaren, Bentley and Rolls-Royce.

Rolls-Royce to revive bespoke coachbuilding division

BMW-owned British luxury marque Rolls-Royce has confirmed plans to formally revive its bespoke coachbuilding division. The historic manufacturer – which in 2017 took the covers off a custom yacht-inspired model referred to as the Sweptail (shown above) – claims its now-ubiquitous modular “Architecture of Luxury” chassis is versatile enough to take the form of “any shape.” According to Rolls-Royce, the only limitations customers now face are those "fundamental to engineering requirements."

2021 Rolls-Royce Ghost revealed

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has pulled back the sheet on the 2021 Ghost sedan, giving a first glimpse and key details of what to expect from the new model. The new Ghost follows the Rolls-Royce Post Opulent design philosophy, thus “rejecting superficial expressions of wealth,” according to press materials. Be that as it may, the unmistakable Pantheon grille still resides up front, only now it features discreet 20-LED downlighting. Rejected superficiality indeed.
