Morgan to end production of models with steel ladder frame platform

Morgan will cease manufacturing models based on its traditional steel ladder frame chassis, which dates back to 1936. This decision sees the imminent demise of the 4/4, Plus 4 and V6 Roadster, although no firm end date has been set for the 84-year old platform. The automaker claims it will give the long-lived chassis "a fitting send off", but has yet to provide any details. Reports indicate the company is planning at least one special edition model based on an outgoing vehicle.

Morgan Plus 8 50th and Aero GT revealed

Morgan has waved farewell to the Aero and Plus 8 with the GT and 50th, unveiled this week at the Geneva motor show. Both cars will be put to pasture after these two special-editions are done, ending 50 years of Plus 8 production and 18 years of the Aero. BMW no longer builds the N62 V8 engine used in both models, which means it's time for engine and car to shuffle off to the garage in the sky.

Morgan preparing focused Aero GT

Morgan Motor Company has teased a race-inspired version of the Aero, set to be fully unveiled at the Geneva motor show next year. Just eight examples of the "gloves off" Aero GT will be built, marking the end of Aero 8 production at Morgan's factory on Pickersleigh Road, Worcestershire. Perhaps unsurprisingly, all eight are already sold to existing customers. Each car will be developed in tandem with the owner, meaning no two will be the same.

Morgan EV3 unveiled: Morgan 3 Wheeler gets electrified - UPDATE

The Morgan EV3 is an electrified version of the already niche Morgan 3 Wheeler, and it has made its debut in pre-production guise at the 2016 Geneva motor show. The new EV3 model continues on the theme that the motorcycle-engined 3 Wheeler started with design inspiration from "1930s aero-engine race cars, classic motorcycles and 1950s fantasy automatons" - whatever that means. But the EV3 pushes the British brand's crazy contraption towards the future.

Morgan releases Geneva teaser: Aero Coupe, Supersports replacement likely

British car maker Morgan has released a shadowy teaser image of a new model that's set to launch at next month's Geneva motor show. Revealed on the Morgan Motor Company Facebook page, the teaser shot shows a similar light and grill to that of the current Aero Coupe or Aero SuperSports, however the classic marque remains tightlipped on details at this stage, saying only: "We look forward to sharing more information about the car with you all over the next few weeks."
