Koenigsegg Australia sells two Jesko hypercars at $6m+ each; 30-50 cars a year planned going forward

Koenigsegg has big plans in Australia, having already sold at least two Jesko hypercars at a staggering $6.5 million each, ahead of plans to expand sales to between 30 and 50 cars a year when a range of more affordable models come Down Under in 2021. Speaking exclusively this week to CarAdvice at the Geneva motor show, the brand’s head of distribution, Nicholas Batzialas, discussed the journey of getting Koenigsegg to Australia with factory support.

Koenigsegg offers a look at crash testing regime

Watching any crash test is mesmerising, but there's something especially compelling about seeing a Swedish wedge of carbon-fibre meet an unfortunate (but necessary) end. To celebrate its following on social media, Koenigsegg has cut a montage of Regera crash tests. Although it's only a brief video, it's clear the Regera has been through the wringer as a part of its development.

Koenigsegg Agera RS Gryphon: One-off hypercar with 24-carat gold trim revealed

The Koenigsegg Agera RS Gryphon has been unveiled before its official debut at the 2017 Geneva motor show. The bespoke hypercar has a clear coat finish that exposes the vehicle's carbon-fibre body work, with highlights, including the stripes, badges and bonnet struts, done in 24-carat gold leaf. Other real gold elements include the custom-made racing helmet, which features hand-applied gold leaf, and gold thread for the interior piping, and the interior Gryphon text and motifs.

How does the Koenigsegg Regera drive without a gearbox? Koenigsegg Direct Drive (KDD) explained

If you're anything like me, you would have become weak at the knees when the Bugatti Chiron was unveiled at the 2016 Geneva motor show. That knee weakness then turned to hot flushes when the wraps were taken off the Koenigsegg Regera. While it's not as quick as the Chiron to 100km/h (a little over 2.8 seconds v. 2.5s), the limitation of being rear-wheel drive wears off very quickly as it races to 400km/h from standstill in around 20 seconds.
