Jaguar F-Type: Next generation may be mid-engined, inspired by C-X75

Jaguar's outgoing head of design has laid out his vision for the next-generation Jaguar F-Type. Speaking to Autocar, Ian Callum revealed he laid down his preferred blueprint for new F-Type with his successor, Julian Thomson, before he left the company. This would see the next F-Type switch to a mid-engined layout or an electric drivetrain, and have styling inspired by the C-X75 show car.

2020 Jaguar F-Pace facelift spied

The Jaguar F-Pace facelift has been spied undergoing testing in southern Europe. Launched in 2016, the F-Pace is due for a mid-cycle refresh. Although practically all of the prototype is covered in a camouflage wrap, it doesn't look as though Jaguar has altered any of the car's body panels. The crossover will have a revised front bumper with revised air intake and grille designs. There also seems to be updated graphics for the headlights.

Jaguar confirms electric XJ is coming

The current Jaguar XJ will be the last with an internal-combustion engine, with the company confirming its next sedan flagship will be pure-electric. The XJ badge debuted in 1968, and has been attached to big, four-door sedans powered by everything from inline-sixes to fire-breathing supercharged V8s over that period, with a smattering of V6 and V12 engines thrown in for good measure.

Jaguar XE Project 8 gains 'Touring' spec, available in Australia

Jaguar has followed in Porsche's footsteps, adding a more subtle 'Touring' specification to its hardcore XE Project 8 sedan range. Gone is the Project 8's ostentatious rear wing and stickers, replaced with a tidy little lip spoiler. Just 15 examples will be built, all of which will be offered with a four-seat interior, as Jaguar looks to reposition the supercharged special edition as a practical family option. Well, as practical as a car with a supercharged V8 making 447kW can be, anyway.
