Italdesign prepping new supercar for Geneva

Italdesign has started teasing a new supercar, set to launch at the Geneva motor show in March. Now owned by Audi, the styling studio released its ZeroUno supercar in 2017, before following it up with a drop-top version last year. Five of each were produced, and all were sold, commanding a significant premium over the Audi R8 on which they were based.

Italdesign's first limited edition supercar revealed

The first car to be built under the Italdesign Automobili Speciali brand has been unveiled, although the Italian design house has yet to reveal the vehicle's name. Said to be built on a modular carbon-fibre and aluminium chassis, this car is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10. Although power and torque figures have yet to be announced, Italdesign says that the carbon-fibre-bodied car is capable of sprinting from 0-100km/h in 3.2 seconds, and hitting a top speed over 330km/h.

Giorgetto Giugiaro sells remaining shares in design company to Audi

Famous automotive designer Giorgetto Giugiaro has left the company that he founded, selling his remaining stake to Audi. ItalDesign Giugiaro announced overnight that Giorgetto Giugiaro (above) had left his post as honorary president of the company he founded in 1968 "to dedicate more time to his passions and personal interests".

Pininfarina Spider, Bertone coupe Alfa Romeo sketches released

Three Italian design studios plan to give Alfa Romeo a 100 birthday to remember, with Pininfarina, Bertone and ItalDesign all set to showcase brand new Alfa-based concepts at next month’s Geneva Motor Show. Bertone has released a rough sketch of its coupe to whet the world’s appetite before its Swiss debut.
