New Australian Peugeot Citroen distributor hints at plans

The new Australian distributor for Groupe PSA – the company that oversees the Peugeot, Citroen and DS brands – has given us some insights regarding its plans for our market. Last month it was announced that PSA had signed Inchape as its new distribution partner here, replacing Sime Darby. Inchcape is also responsible for Subaru here, so it has runs on the board.

2017 Geneva motor show: Epic from-the-show-floor experience

If you don't already know, Geneva is in Switzerland. And while some Aussies might miss having motor shows here in Oz, few will see that as enough of an excuse to splash out to attend a major international one. Luckily, this year's 2017 Geneva motor show (on until March 19) was my first, and it was so good, I didn't want anyone to miss out.

2018 DS 7 Cross spied testing

A heavily-disguised prototype believed to be the new DS 7 Cross SUV has been spied this week during cold weather testing. The swathes of black-and-white camouflage don't give much away in terms of the vehicle's design, but we can make out the general proportions, raised ride height and chunky bumpers common to SUVs. The disguise is so heavy you can't even see the head- or tail-lights clearly - DS is definitely trying to keep the DS 7 Cross's design under wraps (if you'll forgive the pun).

DS 4S hatch debuts in China, global launch unlikely

The all-new DS 4S has made its official debut at this week’s Beijing motor show, bringing with it a number of new details about the new five-door hatch. Making its first public appearance at last year’s Guangzhou motor show, the 4S is set to be sold exclusively in China, becoming the fourth DS-branded car to be designed and produced for the country. The 4S joins a Chinese-market line-up that currently includes the DS 5, DS 5LS and DS6.

Citroen set for big growth in 2016 and beyond

When a brand sells just over 1100 vehicles in 12 months, it’s fair to assume that growth is what’s required. And Citroen’s Australian arm is looking for exactly that. Citroen – which is imported by local distributor Sime Darby alongside fellow PSA makes Peugeot and DS – suffered a sales drop of about 15 per cent last year.
