2018 Caterham Seven SuperSprint: Retro-themed 60th anniversary model debuts

Just 60 Caterham Seven SuperSprint models will be produced for the Seven's 60th anniversary. The SuperSprint is powered by a 660cc turbocharged three-cylinder from Suzuki. For the limited edition Seven, Caterham has tuned the kei car engine to deliver 71kW of power. In addition to the standard five-speed manual transmission, there's a limited-slip differential across the back, Bilstein shock absorbers, and cream coloured 14-inch steel wheels with Avon 155/65 ZT5 radial tyres.

Caterham still keen on 'practical sports car' plan, despite Alpine deal collapse

Caterham is still keen on a new, more conventional model to flesh out its model range. In an interview with Autocar, Graham MacDonald, CEO of Caterham, has admitted that the small British sports car maker is still eager to have a fully enclosed 'practical' sports car, despite its joint venture with Renault falling through in 2014. MacDonald said that such a car would need to have a mainstream and modern body shape to ensure that it has broadest possible market appeal.

Lego Caterham 7 620R kit revealed

The ultimate kit car kit car, the Lego Caterham 7, has finally been revealed. A result of the crowd-sourced Lego Ideas program, the bight yellow Caterham joins the Mars 'Curiosity' Rover and Back to the Future Delorean vehicles developed through the program. The Caterham, set number 21307, is the first 'road going' car set to make the transition from fan concept to mass-production reality.

Caterham sale rumours rejected by owner Tony Fernandes

Caterham owner Tony Fernandes has issued a statement denying reports that the company is up for sale. Over the weekend Malaysian business website The Edge reported, via an unnamed source, that the company was seeking new owners from the Middle East. It's claimed that current owners and co-chairmen Tony Fernandes and Datuk Kamarudin Maranun were hoping for a sale price of around 350 million pounds ($635 million) for the Caterham Group.

Caterham AeroSeven concept leaked

Images of the Caterham AeroSeven concept have been leaked ahead of the radically styled track specialist's unveiling at this weekend's Singapore Formula One Grand Prix. Though its exterior design represents a significant departure from the traditional retro-styled Seven, the AeroSeven concept’s exaggerated bonnet length, low-slung stance, roofless cockpit and rearward seating position make it instantly recognisable as one from British sports car maker.
