2021 Fiat and Abarth new cars

Fiat, like the majority of car manufacturers in this challenging climate, has seen a 30 per cent sales decline year-to-date. While a number of new models from Fiat are expected to launch in Europe in 2021, the brand's local arm remains tight-lipped about exactly which models will make their way to Australia.

Fiat 124 Spider future in doubt – report

In a move that doesn’t bode well for the future of the Fiat 124 Spider, the Mazda MX-5-based drop-top has been dropped from Fiat’s European range. That includes its sportier Abarth 124 Spider counterpart, the only 124 variant offered here. What distinguished the car the most from its Mazda MX-5 twin – the 1.4-litre MultiAir turbocharged four-cylinder engine – is what appears to have done the 124 in.

Abarth 695 70th Anniversario revealed, here in 2020 - UPDATE

The Abarth 695 70th Anniversario limited edition has been unveiled at Abarth Day in Milan. UPDATE, 7/10/19: FCA Australia has confirmed the 695 70th Anniversario will be touching down in local showrooms "in the first half of next year". See bottom of article for more details. Designed to celebrate the company's founding by Carlo Abarth back in 1949, just 1949 copies of the 695 70th Anniversario will be made.

Fiat Chrysler teams with Tesla to avoid EU emissions fines

With EU emissions regulations tightening up in the next few years, some automakers have begun to embrace partial or full electrification as a way of avoid hefty fines. Although Fiat Chrysler (FCA) has announced plans to launch make Maserati a largely electric brand, add plug-in hybrids to its Jeep range, and make the next-generation Fiat 500 fully electric, none of these moves will help much in the short term.
