Fiat 124 Spider future in doubt – report

In a move that doesn’t bode well for the future of the Fiat 124 Spider, the Mazda MX-5-based drop-top has been dropped from Fiat’s European range. That includes its sportier Abarth 124 Spider counterpart, the only 124 variant offered here. What distinguished the car the most from its Mazda MX-5 twin – the 1.4-litre MultiAir turbocharged four-cylinder engine – is what appears to have done the 124 in.

2020 Abarth 595 Pista unveiled, coming to Australia

The Abarth 595 Pista has been unveiled, with the new model bridging the gap between the base 595 and 595 Competizione. Under the bonnet, the 595 Pista has a revised 1.4-litre four-cylinder engine with a larger Garrett turbocharger. It is rated at 121kW of power, and 230Nm of torque at 2250rpm.

Fiat Chrysler and Renault in talks to revive merger - report

High-level discussions are reportedly taking place between Renault and Fiat Chrysler (FCA) aimed at reviving the merger between the two companies, and gaining the approval of Nissan, Renault's alliance partner. Three sources have told Reuters John Elkann, chairman of FCA, has had talks with Jean-Dominique Senard, Renault's chairman, and Thierry Bollore, the French automaker's CEO, about bringing the proposed merger between the two companies back to life.

2018 Abarth 595, Fiat 500 infotainment upgraded - UPDATE

The Abarth 595 line-up has been upgraded for the 2018 model year, bringing an upgraded infotainment display and smartphone mirroring technology. UPDATE, 21/9/18: The Fiat 500 has added the 7.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard across the range. UPDATE, 28/5/18: FCA Australia has indicated the regular Fiat 500 will be getting the upgraded infotainment system as well. See bottom of article for details.
