Geely Xingyue transforms Volvo’s CMA platform into Chinese large SUV flagship

The 2021 Geely Xingyue L has been revealed at the 2021 Shanghai motor show. The five-seat large SUV is built upon Geely's (and subsidiary Volvo’s) shared Compact Modular Architecture, which also underpins the Volvo XC40 small SUV and sits below Geely’s current model line-up. It appears Geely has also borrowed the “Expanding Cosmos” front grille from Volvo sub-brand Polestar, which is flanked by a set of new LED matrix headlights allowing for customisable lighting effects.

GWM Wey Tank 300 Cybertank: Concept off-roader set for Shanghai reveal

The Tank 300 Cybertank concept – which appears to be heavily inspired by boxy off-roaders including the Mercedes-Benz G-Class – is set to be unveiled at this week’s Shanghai motor show. Built by GWM’s luxury subsidiary Wey, the Cybertank is reportedly underpinned by mechanicals from the existing Tank 300 production SUV. However, it picks up aggressive exterior styling enhancements, roof-mounted solar panels, roof rails, a square spare tyre cover, and an exterior body kit.
