Pininfarina-styled HKG H600 concept headed for production

The Hybrid Kinetic Group is planning to launch its H600 sedan in the US by the end of the decade, according to a new report. In a new article published by industry journal Automotive News, board member Carter Yeung says the concept car unveiled at the Geneva motor show earlier this month is a strong indication of what the production version will look like. "A lot of Chinese companies overpromise and underdeliver. We're going to be the opposite," he told the publication.

Volvo autonomous cars 'won't make moral decisions' for occupants

The head of Volvo Cars has stated that its autonomous vehicles will not make ‘moral decisions’ on behalf of the driver or occupants in the car. Hakan Samuelsson, Volvo Cars CEO, said at the 2017 Geneva motor show that the company would not allow the vehicle to choose between saving the driver or saving pedestrians or other road users in the event of an imminent accident. “No it will never do that,” Samuelsson said when asked if the software will make a moral decision.

2017 Geneva motor show: Epic from-the-show-floor experience

If you don't already know, Geneva is in Switzerland. And while some Aussies might miss having motor shows here in Oz, few will see that as enough of an excuse to splash out to attend a major international one. Luckily, this year's 2017 Geneva motor show (on until March 19) was my first, and it was so good, I didn't want anyone to miss out.

Volvo: diesel engines unviable post 2020

It seems clear that as far as fuels go, diesel is on the nose: and the head of Volvo Cars reckons it might not be viable beyond 2020. Volvo Cars CEO Hakan Samuelsson made the remarks at the 2017 Geneva motor show, where he said the ever-tightening emissions regulations, not to mention the cost of development when it comes to revolutionising diesel as a mainstream fuel source, could mean the company won’t offer it after 2020.

Ferrari wait times too long: Marchionne

Italian supercar manufacturer Ferrari has a problem (the same problem its always had), demand simply exceeds supply. Ordinarily, it’s a nice problem to have, but the demand for the prancing horse has never been greater, and now, even loyal Ferrari owners are missing out. Ferrari CEO Sergio Marchionne believes the company’s time-honoured policy of building fewer cars than it could otherwise sell, “probably needs to be re-examined, if we’re to maintain our strong customer following”.
