PSA Peugeot Citroen workers protest at Paris motor show

French police were forced to use tear gas to break up around 1000 protesters outside the Paris motor show overnight as local workers become increasingly unsettled over the country’s dire economic situation and the growing state of unemployment. The group of protesters included a large number of PSA Peugeot Citroen employees belonging to the company’s Aulnay plant near Paris, which will cease vehicle production in 2014.

The man that has contributed greatly to Kia's turnaround believes having the freedom to start the company's design revolution was the key ingredient its current success. Speaking with the media at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, Kia's global head of design, Peter Schreyer, emphasised that car design is inherently a compromise but having the freedom and trust of the organisation has been instrumental in creating today’s Kia models.

Kia pro_cee'd turbo hot-hatch all but confirmed

Kia is likely to build a performance variant of its pro_cee'd three-door hatch with the Korean company all but confirming that the project is already under way. Kia Europe’s vice president of marketing and product planning, Benny Auyen, made mention of a turbocharged pro_cee'd with around 200hp (150kW) during his opening speech for Kia at the Paris Motor Show yesterday.
