2018 Nissan X-Trail TL diesel pricing and specs

The facelifted Nissan X-Trail range has been completed this week with the arrival of the flagship TL diesel variant, kicking off from $47,790 plus on-road costs. Now the second diesel variant in the refreshed line-up, the TL complements the entry-level TS diesel ($35,990), with both fitted as standard with a continuously-variable transmission (CVT) and an on-demand all-wheel drive system.

McLaren previews track-focussed Ultimate Series supercar

McLaren Automotive has today confirmed the upcoming BP23 'Hyper GT' will be joined by a track-focussed supercar in the company's Ultimate Series line-up. Sitting alongside the three-seat BP23 in the ultra-exclusive Ultimate Series range, the as-yet unnamed car will be unveiled early in 2018. Details are predictably scarce at the moment, but we know the car will have three exhaust tips and, although road legal, will sacrifice daily drivability in favour of all-out track performance.

Nissan Intelligent Mobility concept teased ahead of Tokyo debut

Nissan has teased a new concept ahead of the Tokyo motor show on October 25 that "embodies the future of Nissan Intelligent Mobility". There are no other details about the car other than the reveal date, though a short video hints at autonomous driving systems, connected vehicle technology and electrification - all key pillars of Nissan's Intelligent Mobility philosophy.

Volvo’s Polestar 2 to take on Tesla Model 3, Polestar 3 for Model X

Volvo’s electric performance brand has today announced plans to build a competitor to the upcoming Tesla Model 3 with its Polestar 2, and to also take on the electric SUV market with the Polestar 3. Having unveiled its 2+2 high powered hybrid coupe in the form of the Polestar 1, the sub-brand of the Chinese-owned Swedish company said it will produce full-electric competitors to the Model 3 and X at its newly-built Chinese production facility in Chengdu from 2019.

Polestar 1 unveiled: 441kW, 1000Nm hybrid

Volvo’s performance arm has today unveiled what it calls the very first vehicle of its new era of performance electric cars. Polestar says the launch of the Chinese-built Polestar 1 will lead the way to two other models, the creatively named Polestar 2 and 3, in the coming years. Australian buyers will be disappointed to know that for now, the Polestar 1 is left-hand-drive only. However, the two additional models will be made available in right-hand drive from the get go.
