EVs take hold in Europe as fastest growing segment

Electric vehicles have not only arrived on the global stage, they’re well and truly on the rise. This is especially the case in Europe, where they were the fastest growing automotive segment in the first half of 2017. Overall, the segment grew by 27,000 units – or 56 per cent - to 73,162 units for the January to June period (up from 46,949 in 2016), with a helpful boost provided by the recently launched Hyundai Ioniq.

BMW i5: New video hints at upcoming EV

The BMW i5 has been ousted in an online video promoting electric mobility, ahead of a public reveal at next week's Frankfurt motor show. Posted by the company's German press site and shared by Carscoops, the clip - which is in German - shows a mystery BMW i sedan towards the end, with a 2019 timestamp - hinting that the production version is due just before the turn of the decade.

Jaguar E-Type Zero electric car revealed

Classic styling, modern drivetrain – that’s the concept behind the Jaguar E-Type Zero, which has debuted at the JLR Tech Fest in London. The project was referred to as Project Dylan by the team at Jaguar Land Rover. Why? Bob Dylan, of course, because as a marker for the switch from acoustic to electric guitars, so this particular E-Type, built by the Jaguar Land Rover Classic division, marks the introduction of new-world tech to an old-school icon.
