Tesla builds its one-millionth car

Earlier this afternoon, Tesla CEO Elon Musk put out a celebratory Twitter post claiming Tesla had just produced its one-millionth car. Rolling off what looks to be the Nevada ‘gigafactory’ production line, the red Model Y marks not only the millionth car built by Tesla, but also places Tesla as the first-ever marque to produce one million electric cars. Congratulations Tesla team on making our 1,000,000th car!! pic.twitter.com/5M99a9LLQi

The real reason Holden sales hit the brakes last month

Holden sales hit the brakes last month as the brand announced its shock exit from Australia, but its lowest tally since 1948 was not due to a lack of interest from buyers. Holden reported just 1367 cars as sold in February 2020 as the brand slipped to 15th outright for the first time ever, but the number of people negotiating to buy a new Holden was in fact much higher than this.

Aston to replace AMG V8 with hybrid V6, secures V12 future

It’s fair to say that Aston Martin has been having a tough time of things lately. The company’s share price has tanked since an IPO in October 2018, with a consortium led by Canadian billionaire Lawrence Stroll bringing investment earlier this year, but also taking a large stake in the company. Development of electric models has been suspended for at least five years, and the corporate house has been bet on the success of the forthcoming DBX SUV. Yet CEO Andy Palmer is still smiling.
