2021 Cadillac Escalade to feature 38-inch curved OLED screen

The next-generation Cadillac Escalade will have a curved OLED display measuring 38 inches diagonally. OLED technology is typically found on smaller consumer devices, such as smartphones and smartwatches. Without the need for a backlight, OLED screens have deeoper blacks, and can be more easily made into interesting shapes.

Toyota rules out HiLux GR or tougher Rugged X, diesel hybrid more likely

Toyota Australia has all but ruled out a HiLux GR – or an even tougher version of the flagship Rugged X – to compete with the Ford Ranger Raptor, but it is warming customers to the idea of a diesel hybrid future. Toyota Australia vice president, sales and marketing, Sean Hanley, said that while customers might be interested in a high-performance HiLux, there are no plans for such a vehicle.

Audi to buy back 4000 cars in Australia due to faulty Takata airbags

Audi will become the second car company in Australia to buy back vehicles fitted with potentially deadly Takata airbags – and customers won't be allowed to keep their cars because Audi does not plan to develop airbag replacements for vehicles so old. Car companies have calculated that it is cheaper to buy back the vehicles rather than engineer and test replacement airbags.

Nurburgring Nordschleife gets the Monopoly treatment

Ever wanted to own the Nurburgring Nordschleife? Now you can, and it won’t cost the €77 million ($124.6 million) when it last changed hands in 2014. Instead, for around €45 ($70) you can now play capitalist race-track owner with the Nurburgring edition of Monopoly. An official product of the Nurburgring, this edition allows you to buy famous sections and corners of the Nordschleife, such as Flugplatz, Metzgesfeld, and Galgenkoff.
