BMW Z4M: Waiting on another? Don't count on it

While Toyota fanboys set the internet on fire speculating about the huge gaps in the publicly disclosed information about the new Supra, BMW has been much more forthright about its sister car, the forthcoming BMW Z4. We’ve already driven a prototype version of the Z, and been told by the BMW team engineering it that the Toyota will share all of its major components including the same engines.

Polestar 1 will be "thrilling" - chief test driver

Polestar's chief test driver, Joakim Rydholm, says the upcoming Polestar 1 sports car is "exciting", "engaging" and "thrilling". After driving the plug-in hybrid coupe at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Rydholm, had high praise – though we reckon his comments may be a little biased.

2019 Ford Focus: Initial details for Australia

Ford Australia has revealed preliminary specifications for the upcoming 2019 Focus range, ahead of its November on-sale date. Headlining the announcement is the availability of the Focus wagon for the first time in Australia, along with the sport-themed ST-Line trim level (pictured in blue). As previously reported, the Focus line-up will be fitted as standard with autonomous emergency braking (AEB) with pedestrian and cyclist detection, along with lane-keep assist.

Hyundai i30 N Line unveiled in Europe

The sportier-looking Hyundai i30 N Line has been unveiled in Europe, bringing a dash of sportiness to non-N hatchbacks. Following the template laid out by Audi's S-Line, Mercedes-Benz's AMG Line and BMW's M Sport packages, the new i30 N Line upgrades the hatch's visuals to almost match the i30 N, but leaves the engine untouched.

Mercedes-Benz A200 maxed out on the autobahn - video

We've spent a bit of time covering flat-out runs in exotic metal like the BMW M5 and Porsche 718 Cayman GTS, but expensive German cars aren't the only ones allowed to go hell-for-leather on the nation's derestricted motorways. Less exciting metal like the Mercedes-Benz A200 can test their mettle as well, which is exactly what we've got here.
