BMW recalls 1.6 million diesels globally over fire risk

BMW has extended a safety recall for diesel vehicles across various model lines over a potential fire risk – now affecting around 268,000 units in the UK and 1.6 million globally. According to the Bavarian marque, the fault could see the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler can leak glycol liquid, which could result in "smoldering particles" when combined with high temperatures in the EGR modules and "typical soot particles"...

2018 BMW X3, X4 recalled

BMW Australia has issued a recall for the 2018 model-year X3 and X4 crossovers over concerns of a fault with the braking system. The manufacturer reports that "there is a possibility of air being trapped in the hydraulic braking system", which can cause the rear brake circuit to fail, or in "extreme circumstances" the brake pedal may "travel to the floor"...

2019 BMW X4 pricing and specs

Australian pricing and specifications for the all-new 2019 BMW X4 range have been announced this week, ahead of an on-sale date during the third quarter of 2018. Four variants of the new crossover coupe will be available from launch: the xDrive20i, xDrive20d, xDrive30i and M40i. Pricing for the entry-level xDrive20i M Sport starts at $76,900 before on-road costs, over $10,000 more than the X3 range-opener...

2019 BMW X4: Initial details for Australia revealed

BMW Australia has announced the initial X4 model range that will go on sale in local dealerships in the third quarter of 2018 though full pricing and specifications will be finalised closer to launch. "Expect the price range to be between $75,000 and $110,000," BMW's local corporate communications manager, Adam Davis, told CarAdvice in Spartanburg, South Carolina ahead of the international launch drive for the new X4, "We'll finalise those details soon though...
