BMW GT by Emil Baddal

These superb 3D models of a futuristic BMW sports car concept are not the work of the BMW design department but rather, were created by an Iranian design student, Emil Baddal. Emil had given CarAdvice permission to post these high-resolution pics of the car and we are delighted to do so...

Ferrari 458 Italia by Oakley

That’s not the Oakley sunglass mob, but rather, the British Porsche tuning crowd who have turned their hands to the wonderful looking Ferrari 458 Italia and added quite a few of their own ‘go fast’ bits to the standard factory package. Meet the 458 Italia by Oakley Design, and if you like what you see, then you better be quick...

BMW Gran Coupe in 2012

According to an insider at BMW Headquarters in Munich, Germany, the shark nose Gran Coupe Concept will go into production in the second quarter of 2010. The news was reported by UK publication Autocar, who was also told that the concept will more than likely become the next generation 6-Series model although, that just doesn’t seem plausible for a number of reasons...

Porsche Panamera racecar seen on track

Aston Martin’s Rapide won’t be the only four-door sports car that you’ll see on the racetrack. Monaco based N. Technology has been preparing a Porsche Panamera S for its debut in the upcoming Superstars Series in Germany next weekend. Normally purchased as a high-speed luxury GT car, this particular Panamera S has a few modifications that should make it a particularly quick car on track...

Lexus outsells Mercedes-Benz in the U.S.

May was an outstanding month for Lexus in the United States with sales up by 31 percent over the corresponding period in 2009, in what is currently a booming U.S. car market. Lexus have already sold over 90,000 cars this year, while May sales alone were 22,216. That’s enough to put the brand on top of the prestige charts, ahead of Mercedes-Benz and BMW who reported sales of 19,184 and 17,859 respectively...

Spain’s GTA Spano supercar spotted

Spain’s first ever Supercar, the GTA Spano, which is built by the well known formula race car manufcturer, GTA Motor in Valencia, has been spotted on the road again. The 8.3-litre mid-engine supercar is an eye catching machine with some cutting edge technology on board and while CarAdvice has driven the prototype car, we look forward to road testing the fully fledged production car later this year...

Porsche 911 GT3 RSRs line up for Le Mans

You’ve got to hand it Porsche’s iconic 911 GT3. In last year’s 24 Hours Nurburgring race, Porsche 911’s took 7 of the top 10 places in what could only be described as total domination of the world’s toughest endurance race. And in the highly competitive GT2 Class at this weekend’s Le Mans 24 Hours, no less than six 911 GT3 RSR’s will line up on the grid in France’s most famous of motor races...

Subaru Impreza XV revealed

While at the launch of the Forester Diesel earlier this week, Subaru also brought along the latest iteration of their popular Impreza model, which they have badged the Impreza XV. With 30 millimetres more ground clearance along with protective black wheel arch moulds and other sports crossover styling cues, such as a rear diffuser and standard front fog lights, the XV takes on an entirely different character to the rest of the Impreza model range...

Panoz Abruzzi revealed

Panoz Abruzzi revealed

I can hear the response already, who and what is Panoz? Panoz have been building bespoke American made sports cars for over 20 years, in a factory way down in the Deep South of the USA. The company commenced operations back in 1988 in Ireland of all places, when Daniel Panoz bought the rights to a chassis designed by the talented Frank Costin, who in fact pioneered the monocoque chassis and was the brother of Mike Costin, the co-founder of Cosworth...

T.27 EV by Gordon Murray

T.27 EV by Gordon Murray

You’re looking at a petrol version (T.25) of what will most likely be the world’s most efficient and exciting EV (Electric Vehicle), the T.27. For those few who haven’t heard of Gordon Murray, he is the without doubt one of the most gifted automotive designers of all time, with more Formula One wins in cars which he designed, that I can possibly count...

Bugatti Veyron up for Auction

Apparently only 300 Bugatti Veyrons were made – and one of those is going under the hammer at the forthcoming ‘Fast and Furious’ sale on June 5 at the Blackbush Auction Centre in the UK. There are over 350 ‘Fast and Furious’ cars to be auctioned but only one Veyron, and already there is speculation as to who might bid for the world’s fastest ‘proper’ car...

Audi A1 flips over

In what could only be described as a marketing misfire, this Audi A1 rolled over while trying to climb a quarter pipe in a publicity stunt at Cinqunantenaire Park in Brussels recently. We’re not quite sure what the point of this exercise was, but the Audi had been giving test rides on the ‘pipe’ trying to demonstrate that the car could manoeuvre as well as a skateboard...

2011 Range Rover with new 4.4-litre V8 Diesel

News has apparently leaked from an advisory letter from Land Rover HQ in the UK to German Dealerships, that the 2011 Range Rover will be made available with a 4.4-litre V8 turbodiesel engine, which replaces the current 3.6-litre V8, itself an outstanding powerplant in every respect. The letter also states that new Range Rover will sell for €88,900 or €3,000 more than the current model...

Lancia design sketches

In what is still a rather cloudy economic climate, despite the odd glimpse of financial recovery, it remains doubtful if Australia will ever see the return of the prestigious Italian marque, Lancia. That’s a shame because I have fond memories of the brand, with a poster of the fabulous Lancia Stratos rally car gracing my bedroom wall alongside the Lamborghini Countach...
