The model tested is a Ford Focus five-door hatch, powered by a revised diesel engine. This engine, as the video mentions, has been given a certain attention to detail which allows it to be very quiet - quite unlike a diesel, resulting in a more refined feel.
The video review goes on to talk about how the new car is more 'grown up' and 'mature' compared to the outgoing model, but at the same time, has become a little bit less exciting. Autocar is impressed by the quality feel and refined nature, though, and is impressed by that all-new, futuristic interior design.
Check out the full review below for a quick look into the new model. The 2012 Ford Focus is scheduled to go on sale here in Australia during the third quarter of this year. As usual, we will only get the five-door hatch and sedan models and will miss out on the wagon variant, as per existing lineup.
