2008 Subaru Impreza WRX STi pricing announced
Subaru Australia has just announced prices for the MY08 Impreza WRX STi at the Brisbane International Motor Show. Due for release mid February, the STi will be available in two different guises, the standard WRX STi and the top of the range WRX STi spec.R.
The entry level starts from $59,990 and the spec R. which receives Recaro seats and BBS rims retails for $64,990.
Nick Senior, Managing Director, Subaru Australia said "The new Impreza WRX STi retains its fully exceptional performance credentials and gains a new level of comfort and refinement."
Official power figures put the car at 221kW and 407Nm of torque with 0-100km/h times coming in at 5.2 seconds, a 0.2 second improvement over the old one.
The 2.5-litre engine is essentially unchanged, Subaru has added dual active valve control system, modified the turbo, changed the way the intercooler works for better efficiency and moved the engine lower in the engine bay - giving a better centre of gravity and hence better handling.
The MY08 STi receives the Subaru-Intelligent (SI)-Drive system, the first appearance in the Impreza range. The system allows the driver to switch between Intelligent, Sports or Sports Sharp.
More details and specifications expected in the next few days.
