Video: Toyota Prius song and vote to determine plural

With the recent unveilings of the Prius C Concept and Prius V expanding Toyota’s Prius hybrid range to four, a certain question has been thrown around the CarAdvice office lately: ‘What do you call more than one Prius?’

It turns out Toyota is pondering the same question, and rather than telling the world what to call multiples of its Prius, it is asking members of the motoring public to vote for their favourite.

The options? Prii (like octopi), Priuses (like bonuses), as well as Prien, Prium and just plain old Prius (like the plural of fish).

In the early stages, Prii is leading the way with 40 percent of the vote, ahead of Priuses (29 percent) and Prius (15 percent).

Voting closes on February 20, after which date Toyota will officially announce the winner.

Those of you determined to become a part of the Prii/uses/us/en/im’s history can cast your vote at the Toyota Prius family website. Let us know your favourite, or an even better plural for the Prius, in the comments section below too.

The third-generation Prius hatch is currently the only model available, but will be joined in the US by the Prius V in the second half of 2011, and the Prius PHV and Prius C Concept production vehicle in early 2012.
