Kia Seltos, Stonic and Rio gain new Kia logo in Australia, rest of local range to follow by late 2021

The Kia Seltos, Stonic and Rio have joined the updated Cerato in wearing Kia's new corporate logo, with more vehicles to follow in the coming months.

The 2022 Kia Seltos, Kia Stonic and Kia Rio now wear the Korean brand’s new logo, with the rest of the Kia Australia range to follow suit by December.

Model Year 2022 versions of the Seltos small SUV, Stonic 'light' SUV and Rio city car arriving in showrooms now are the latest to gain the new logo, a Kia Australia spokesperson confirmed to CarAdvice, joining the updated Cerato – the first vehicle to feature the new 'KIA' script Down Under – launched locally in recent weeks.

The new logo will be introduced across the wider Kia range as part of Model Year 2022, with the MY22 Picanto micro car and Niro electrified small SUV reach showrooms from August, followed by Sorento, Carnival and Stinger models in September or October.

The next-generation Sportage mid-size SUV will complete the rollout when it arrives in Australian showrooms in October or November.

It's not clear whether the Model Year 2022 updates will see any other updates or changes alongside the new badging, though if the new logo rollout in other markets is any guide, this isn't expected to be the case.

Prices of the MY22 Kia Rio, Seltos and Stonic are unchanged versus their Model Year 2021 counterparts, with the rest of the Kia range expected to follow a similar trajectory (aside from the Sportage, which enters an all-new model generation for 2022, and will likely incur a notable price rise).

The Model Year 2022 arrivals come as Kia battles stock shortages related to strong demand and the ongoing semiconductor shortage, with CarAdvice reporting delays on Seltos, Stonic and Rio models of three months earlier this month. Other models have seen delays up to six months.
