‘Very different new Ferrari’ at Geneva Motor Show: report

Ferrari Chairman Luca di Montezemolo has revealed a “very different new Ferrari” will be unveiled at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show in March.

According to a report in French publication L'Equipe, Mr di Montezemolo admitted a new vehicle was on the way.

“You will discover, at the Geneva Motor Show, a very different new Ferrari that proves that we adapt as the world changes,” he said.

It is unknown exactly what type of vehicle we can expect from Ferrari, and whether it will be a concept or production vehicle.

If recent concepts are anything to go by, however, it is likely to have an environmental theme.

At this year’s Geneva Motor Show, the brand unveiled the 599 HY-KERS prototype – a bright green hybrid with a V12 and Formula One-inspired regenerative braking.

At the Paris Motor Show in September, Ferrari unveiled the California equipped with HELE (High Emotion Low Emissions) System, which used stop/start and other efficient engine technologies to reduce CO2 emissions by 23 percent.

The mystery Ferrari will make its debut at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show when doors open on March 3, although expect to hear plenty about it in the lead-up.
