Dacia unveils new logo for 2022

Romanian budget brand Dacia has a new logo for 2022. Expect to see a whole lot more of it, should its slated Australian launch go ahead.

Dacia – a Romanian budget car maker owned by Renault – has overhauled its logo and colour scheme – visual symbols which could adorn Dacia vehicles and showrooms in Australia, if a local launch for the brand does go ahead.

First seen on the Bigster concept earlier this year, the new logo connects stylised 'D' and 'C' letters that form a mirror image of one another, with Dacia drawing parallels with "links of a chain that are paired together in a strong, cohesive bond".

A full-length 'DACIA' version of the logo will feature across both future vehicles and the brand's showrooms that claims to "gives the impression of robustness and stability" and "reflect the brand’s simplistic and artful mindset".

A new colour scheme will be introduced alongside the updated logos built around khaki green, with secondary cues including three 'earthy' colours (dark khaki, terracotta and sand), bright orange, and bright green.

The new brand identity will be rolled across Dacia's social channels this month, before the first showrooms switch over to the new branding in early 2022, followed by its application to Dacia's vehicles from the second half of 2022.

As reported by CarAdvice, Dacia and its vehicles are tipped to reach Australia as early as 2022 – though it's understood a local distribution agreement has yet to be signed. It is also unclear if Renault or Dacia badging will be used on the brand's vehicles locally, or which vehicles will reach local showrooms.
