2021 Nissan Navara Pro-4X Warrior revealed, due in showrooms within three months

Nissan has released photos of the updated Navara Pro-4X Warrior ahead of its expected showroom arrival in August or September.

Nissan has released images of the 2021 Nissan Navara Pro-4X Warrior as final validation work is close to wrapping up.

While Nissan was unable to provide arrival timing for the new Navara Pro-4X Warrior, Drive understands the off-road focussed flagship Navara will arrives showrooms in late August or early September, pending any further delays.

Exact pricing and specifications of the 2021 Navara Pro-4X Warrior are due to be released closer to the on-sale date.

The 2021 Navara Pro-4X Warrior is based on the new range-topping Pro-4X which replaces the discontinued N-Trek.

As with the previous generation Warrior, development and final assembly have been handled by local engineering firm Premcar.

The Navara Pro-4X Warrior appears to carry over the same modifications and changes as the first Warrior iteration, including a hoopless front bullbar with improved protection and off-road clearance, along with an integrated light bar.

The hoopless bullbar is a new design to suit the Navara facelift, and its associated safety hardware. Based on the genuine Nissan bull bar for the update Navara – albeit painted – it appears to remain incompatible with a winch.

Most of the Navara Warrior’s important engineering work is under the sheetmetal, with larger and specially tuned suspension teaming up with 32-inch Cooper Discoverer all-terrain tyres to provide better off-road performance.

The front suspension is understood to be the same as the previous Navara Warrior but the photos show the shocks and springs are now painted red to match the colour of the front bash plate.

Other details carried over from the previous Navara Warrior include wider offset alloy wheels to suit bigger off-road tyres, a high-clearance tow bar, upgraded bump stops, underbody protection, and a 42mm overall lift in ride height.

The Navara Warrior will line up against the likes of Ford’s Ranger Raptor and FX4 Max, as well as Volkswagen’s incoming off-road W580 flagship ute as factory-fettled and modified variants within their own respective ranges.

Nissan Australia managing director Stephen Lester said in a media statement the 2021 Navara Pro-4X Warrior will be “the first of what will soon be several exciting new Warrior models in our line-up.”

Drive understands Nissan and Premcar are developing a Warrior variant of the Patrol four-wheel drive (photos were shown to dealers last year), which is likely to follow the same path of local development, along with a final fit-out on Premcar's Melbourne assembly line.

“Australia’s unique landscape is both rugged and exhilarating, and the Warrior program is designed to deliver vehicles that share those attributes, without sacrificing safety, technology or on-road comfort," Mr Lester continued.
