Porsche 911 restoration outfit Singer is coming to Australia

Singer's painstakingly-restored custom sports cars typically cost close to $1 million ... and that's after sitting on a three-year wait list.

California-based restoration and modification outfit Singer – which specialises in bespoke (and pricey) Porsche 911 rebuilds – is coming to Australia, courtesy of Melbourne-based importer and dealer Zagame Automotive Group.

A new showroom – the location of which is yet to be announced – will reportedly feature a customer service team, maintenance facilities, and a small number of display cars.

“Owners will be able to learn about [our] services and discuss their requirements in a sophisticated and welcoming environment, surrounded by a high level of customer support from the deeply experienced team at Zagame Automotive,” the company said in an official statement released this morning.

“This also means that Singer’s clients will have access to expert, in-country servicing, and maintenance from a trusted partner.”

While the company is not well known Down Under, Singer has carved out a niche in the USA and Europe restoring air-cooled Porsche 911 sports cars built between 1989 and 1994.

Customers generally provide their own donor vehicle, and pay upwards of US$650,000 (AU$850,000) for the company’s services refurbishing and modifying the chassis, engine, transmission, exhaust, suspension, brakes, body, wheels, and interior.

Singer claims to have a waiting list in excess of three years, however it's unclear if Australian orders will be subject to similar or longer delays.
