In case the stunning 2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS isn't elegant or stately enough, German tuning company Carlsson has come up with a plan. And it looks like this.
The 2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS is a strapping bit of kit already, but Carlsson offers subtle enhancements just to give it that personal touch. The aerodynamics kit for the exterior includes side air outlet gills, a revised rear bumper incorporating an exhaust-integrated rear diffuser, as well as a revised grille and chin spoiler for the front.
It also comes with stylish Carlsson 20 inch alloy wheels, LED fog lights to match the standard daytime LEDs and a new bulging bonnet for that extra presence. Revisions aren't limited to the exterior though, the Carlsson package also sees the interior draped in Alcantara and brushed aluminium throughout.
Carlsson didn't just leave it at cosmetics either. Power enhancements are made to both the CLS 350 CGI petrol and CLS 350 CDI diesel. It's called the CK35 tuning kit and for the petrol model power is hiked up to 245kW from 225kW, while the diesel 350 CDI diesel goes from outputting 195kW to 235kW. Torque is the main factor with the diesel though as its figure of 650Nm in standard form is boosted to a whopping 780Nm.
Carlsson says to expect acceleration times to be improved from 6.1 seconds to 5.9 seconds for the petrol and 6.2 seconds to 5.9 seconds for the diesel as well. The great thing about this tuning package is the car and the engines still remain clean and keep their Euro 5 emissions standards.
