Honda Australia recycling helps Wildlife Victoria

Every year, spare parts from Honda Australia are recycled and reused by various organisations across the country, including Wildlife Victoria, which uses old vehicle textiles to help look after small and injured animals.

Honda seat covers are used to make pouches for joeys and other injured animals, while floor mats are recycled into lining for cages.

The support from Honda enables Wildlife Victoria to direct more of its funds towards the rescue and rehabilitation of wildlife.

Other Honda components are also recycled by plastics and recycling manufacturing company, Australian Composite Technology (ACT), including dashboards, tyres, engines, windscreen wipers, electronics and cardboards.

Since 2008, more than 186 cubic metres of Honda parts have been recycled by the partnership.

ACT reprocesses the industrial waste plastic primarily to manufacture fence posts and bollards in commercial volumes.
