2022 Honda Civic hatch teased ahead of 24 June 2021 reveal
The eleventh-generation hatch will come onto the market in Europe at the back-end of this year, according to Honda.
Honda has released the first teaser images of its upcoming next-generation 2022 Honda Civic hatchback, ahead of an official reveal later this month.
The images – which CarAdvice has brightened to improve clarity – reveal the all-new Civic will taper to the rear in the style of a 'liftback', much like the outgoing model.
The front end appears largely unchanged from the recently-revealed 2022 Civic sedan, which was unveiled in full last month (shown at bottom). Click here to read full details on that vehicle.
The hatchback will likely be offered with the same 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine and 1.5-litre turbo four-cylinder petrol engine found overseas in its stablemate – though whether the outgoing car's 1.8-litre four-cylinder will continue to be offered locally isn't clear.
The flagship Type R will return for another generation with a manual transmission, Honda has confirmed.
The 2022 Honda Civic hatchback is set for an official reveal on June 24, at 11am AEST, with the first deliveries promised in Europe during the northern autumn of this year (September to November inclusive).
CarAdvice has reached out to a spokesperson for Honda Australia requesting comment on local timing. This story will be updated when more information becomes available.
