Video: 2012 Ford C-Max keyless hands-free boot operation

Ford has just released a video demonstrating the operation of its new keyless and hands-free rear compartment hatch feature. The 2012 C-Max is based on the upcoming next-generation 2012 Ford Focus platform, which already looks promising.

The handy feature pretty much speaks for itself in the video. The operator has the keys in her bag or pocket and upon approach to the vehicle the car unlocks by itself. No big deal. But watch as the lady waves her foot underneath the back of the car to stimulate a sensor which then reacts by slowly releasing the rear hatch.

The boot can then be shut by the touch of a button. It's an innovative and convenient technology that should have perhaps been applied to mainstream cars - and especially wagons - years ago. It's good to see Ford is up with technology and will offer such features in the near future. The video also showcases other thoughtful elements to Ford C-Max. Take a look below.
