2021 Lotus Emira interior teased ahead of July reveal

The upcoming sports car will be the legendary British brand's last to feature a petrol engine.

The interior of the upcoming 2021 Lotus Emira sports car – which will be the brand’s last all-new vehicle featuring an internal combustion engine – has been teased, ahead of an official unveiling early next month.

The newest images reveal an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel with yellow highlights, positioned in front of a digital instrument cluster.

Two paddle shifters appear to sit behind the wheel, suggesting power will be sent to the ground via an automatic transmission.

Rumours out of Europe suggest suggest this will be paired with a 2.0-litre turbocharged 'M139' four-cylinder engine from the Mercedes-AMG A45 S hot hatch, or a supercharged 3.5-litre Toyota V6 from the outgoing Lotus Evora.

The 2021 Lotus Emira will be revealed at the brand’s Hethel headquarters on 7 July 2021, at 5:30am AEST.
