2021 Rimac Nevera electric hypercar revealed with sub-2.0 second acceleration

The $3.2 million zero-emission Croatian hypercar will reportedly sprint from 0-100km/h in 1.97 seconds, on the way to a top speed of 412km/h.

The 2021 Rimac Nevera electric hypercar – the production version of the Croatian manufacturer’s 2018 C_Two concept – has been officially revealed, with near-mythical power and acceleration figures.

Drive comes from four individual electric motors – one paired to each wheel – and these deliver a combined 1427kW/2360Nm to the road, allowing the 0-100km/h sprint to be conquered in a record-shattering 1.97 seconds (claimed) on the way to a top speed of 412km/h.

It will reportedly climb from stationary to 300km/h in just 9.3 seconds. For reference, the 2011 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport took 17.1 seconds to reach the same speed.

When slowing back down again, a regenerative braking system pairs with six-piston electro-hydraulic callipers and 390mm Brembo carbon-ceramic disc brakes at each corner of the car.

Voltage is drawn from a 120kWh lithium-manganese-nickel battery developed in-house and integrated into the floor of the carbon-fibre monocoque body. This allows for a claimed driving range of 547km between charges.

Inside the tan leather-clad cabin, infotainment comes via two touchscreen displays and a digital instrument cluster.

Priced from €2 million (AU$3.2 million), just 150 examples are reportedly slated for production.

However, multiple other coachbuilders and manufacturers – including Pininfarina and potentially Bugatti – are building next-generation models underpinned by the Nevera platform.
